Doug serves as a member of the company’s Office Group, working primarily in transaction
services. Doug specializes in integrating market information and facilitating
the correct strategy to best meet the client’s needs.
CAREER SUMMARY
Doug joined Grubb & Ellis|The Furman Co. in December 2000, after serving
as Vice President of Brokerage for the Greenville office of Edens & Avant.
His area of expertise is the office technology market in the Upstate of South
Carolina. Since 1981, Doug has built his sales experience through office furniture,
technology and commercial real estate sales; bringing a thorough understanding
of all aspects of the corporate office environment to his clients.
Doug’s roster of clients includes First Union/Wachovia Securities, Vanguard Services,
General Electric Energy Systems, Compaq Computer Corporation, Bon Secours St.
Francis Hospital System, Transamerica Financial Services, Resurgent Capital Services,
Colinx, BMW Car Club of America, FNB Mortgage Corporation, Stanley, Hunt, Dupree,
Rhine & Assoc., Ventus Capital Services, D3 Technologies, World Acceptance
Corp., and Giffels Engineering, Inc.

Doug is a 1978 graduate of Clemson University.

Doug has successfully completed the Grubb & Ellis Foundations for Success,
26-week program.
A native of Greenville, Doug has served with numerous local civic and government
organizations including the Greenville County Zoning Board of Appeals, the Greenville
County Planning Commission, the South Carolina Economic Developers Association,
the Blue Ridge Council of the Boy Scouts of America and the Pleasantburg Rotary
Club. Doug is a communicant at Christ Church in Greenville. He is currently
the chairperson for the Greater Greenville Association of Realtors Commercial
Alliance. He and his wife, Alita, have one daughter, Rebecca.
